Experimentarium – Making Natural Science Fun

Client: Experimentarium  Agency: School Project  Role: Art Direction / Graphic Design

Experimentarium is an independent non-profit foundation. It’s purpose is to promote interest in natural science and technology as widely as possible in society, and to create a meeting place between the public, industry and scientific communities.
Experimentarium is mostly known for it’s main interactive exhibition in Tuborg’s 4,100 m2 old bottling plant, 5 km north of Copenhagen. The exhibition consists of nearly 300 activities grouped into 11 different sections, and is visited annually by approx. 350,000 visitors. Experimentarium principally targets  the whole population but with special focus on schools, families with children and tourists.

Based on the four following brand-values of Experimentarium: exploratory, whimsicality, diversity and commitment, I drew inspiration from Roger Penrose’s visualization of the famous “Fibonacci Sequence”, The X (as the symbol for the unknown), the 5 senses and the expression “Connecting the Dots”.
